One of the great things that comes out of corporate giants is their attempt at ‘feel good’ advertising. In attempt to look slightly more humanitarian, Telecom set up a giant Christmas tree made of lights in Western Park. They had four red phone booths where you could send Santa your Christmas Wishes, and they promoted the recycling of phones and something to do with the Starship Childrens Hospital. I have to say, as much as I ignored the advertising, crashing out on some beanbags beneath the wonderful lights to watch the show was AMAZING.

It was one of those moments where Christmas Festivities wriggled its way into your heart and made you all warm and fuzzy.

That looks absolutely INCREDIBLE!! I wish they could do things like that here, but right now it’s so cold you get frostbite if you’re skin is outside uncovered for more than ten minutes :(
Amazing pictures :)

These photos were fantastic! It started snowing in Vancouver today for the first time this year, and it actually stuck! It was the perfect day to start because I had my first Christmas themed gathering with my family. It was so nice to be able to go inside and be warm and cozy. I wonder what it’s like to have Christmas in the summer…

I agree, this is one big win when for corporations being all ‘nice’ to people. I love the tree, it’s magical to sit under :-D

@Emily Jane – Haha, yeah. That’s the great thing about a Summer Christmas . . . the sky is blue right up until 9pm, and it’s still warm enough to be sitting outside until 11 :)
@Awmb – Summer Christmas’s are nice enough, I think. It’s warm and comfortable and you have bbq’s and hang out on the beach lots. I’ve only had one winter Christmas, and it was lonely (I was all by myself) and I don’t remember the brown slush I had to walk through fondly :P
@Chelsea – Thanks! :)
@The Third Quarter – Yay! It’s also super rainbow :P
@Mo – Woo! :)
