“Spring comes: the flowers learn their colored shapes.”
- Maria Konopnicka
The Boy and I took Quinn for a walk the other day, and I noticed that all there are flowers in bloom! After many days of grey rain it was most welcome.

It appears that spring is here in August this year.

Can I ask a stupid question? In America your standard calendar has seasonal themes. The picture for January is a snowy day, May shows a bounty of flowers, September displays reddening leaves, and so on. It’s kind of silly in my case because I live in Los Angeles where there are no seasons. I look at those calendars and think, “if only I lived in a place with snow or orange leaves!” I need to make a special L.A. calendar that just shows a palm tree in the sun for every month of the year.
So what I want to know is this: in New Zealand are there adjusted calendars with snowy days in July or do you have to deal with shoddy northern hemisphere calendars that show the wrong seasons at the wrong time?

@JJ – I’d never thought about that. We definitely have our own calendars. We have our own holidays and things printed on them :) And yeah, they have snowy pictures in the middle of the year, beach shots at the ends :) I’ll find one and send it your way – you can be all mixed up with the a different hemisphere calendar :)
